"Wild Strawberry Tree": this is very personal impression from my childhood;
by the way- most of my pictures are proceed from fleeting impressions, shreds of memories, snapshot captured on the run.

Imagine: the fifties, hot summer on the riverside, wicker bush around, my 4th or 5th birthday outdoor and...surprise! my beloved Grandma Wandzia with Grandaddy Jachu organized a traditional birthday party: the table covered with tablecloth; cake, lemonade, kirsch (for me cherry juice, but in the liqueur glass) on it, and, of course, wild strawberries, brought in the glass jar, sprinkled with sugar- specially for me...
Paradise lost- it could be alternative title of this snapshot from the past.
I made several versions of this picture- although, still feel somewhat dissatisfied.
"Drzewko poziomkowe": to moja bardzo osobista impresja z dzieciństwa.
Przy okazji: większość moich obrazów powstaje z ulotnych wrażeń, strzępków wspomnień, migawek uchwyconych w biegu.
"Drzewko poziomkowe" do nich należy.
Wyobraźcie sobie: lata pięćdziesiąte, gorące lato nad rzeką, wokół krzewy wiklinowe, moje czwarte lub piąte urodziny i... niespodzianka! moja ukochana babcia Wandzia i dziadek Jachu organizują tradycyjne przyjęcie urodzinowe: stół nakryty obrusem, na nim ciasto, lemoniada, wiśniówka (dla mnie sok wiśniowy, ale w kieliszku) i, oczywiście, poziomki w słoiku, zasypane cukrem, specjalnie dla mnie.
Raj utracony- taki mógłby być alternatywny tytuł tej migawki z przeszłości.
Zrobiłem kilka wersji tego obrazu. Lecz wciąż odczuwam pewien niedosyt.
